France Military

When looking for a warm and friendly place to go to France, you can do worse than trying to Montpellier, perhaps not as well known as Marseille or Cannes, but probably a better place to soak up the Mediterranean sun and friendly atmosphere with its wide range of bars and restaurants to choose from. The first place to see, it's Comedy (Town Square), in this square is the Grand Theater, one of the most beautiful theaters in France, built by Victor Louis, 1773-1780. It has a front colonnade of 12 Corinthian columns surmounted by a gallery of 12 statues on the balustrades of muses and goddesses. The main house, staircases, halls and smaller rooms are beautifully decorated.
From the square in Corum, this is a shady path by the many planes, with ponds, fountains, play areas and seating. On the right, the Champs de Mars, a former military airfield converted public garden in 1900. And you can relax on one of the many benches you will find a nice place to spend the afternoon and is very popular with residents and tourists.
With a population of 350,000, Montpellier has a long history as a university town that now hosts more than 60,000 students each year. The city is characterized by a youthful energy. Montpellier has a cultural center, a young and dynamic, has numerous exhibitions and events throughout the year, including the Corum (Conference Center), theater, Zenith and many other concert halls, the Museum Gallery Fabre, cinema complexes, a skating rink.
And you can also go to another place, resort Palavas, near Montpellier, that is so beautiful and is a must for a day trip. It is well served by local bus and only thirty minutes by car. Here you can sit and watch the fishermen unloading are fresh catch of the day and enjoy the Mediterranean sun at all. Of course, delicious seafood is a must too.
If you come early in the morning you can see the splendid view of the flamingos is a truly wonderful sight to see. Wherever you choose to stay or Palavas Montpellier anyway you will not be disappointed.
