How can I make a list of all my videos and photos stored on my laptop?
I am a school teacher and if the cameras students are in constant use and registration of their work. Video clips and photos are stored on a laptop. Is it a way to collect names of photo and video files in a list that I can regularly updated?
I have a program called ACDSee 32 Its mainly a software visualization of files, its default settings are like when you open Windows Explorer to manage files, there is only a preview window that shows the image file currently highlighted image. Then you can view pictures without opening an art program. The non-image files like videos, PDF files, Word files, etc. are still visible on the list, and you can configure shell commands in the ACDSee program so that it will open the appropriate program (Windows Media Player, Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Word, etc.) and the file, just so when using Windows Explorer. The key is IT IN SEARCH OF YOUR FUNCTION. There is an order on the tab "Tools" menu "Generate Listing file "that will create a list of names of all files and subfolders in the folder. It will automatically open a new window with Notepad (the program of basic accessories that comes with Windows) and generate the list. It is based on the columns selected for ACDSee "Details" view, so it can also list the file size, image properties, etc. and the name. The file can be saved Notepad in the database. "Txt" or you can highlight all the copy into the clipboard (CTRL + C) and then paste several programs in advanced word processing as Microsoft Word or Wordpad to change fonts, change appearances, and save as file types more complex. What's cool is that you do not type anything (except for the name of the new text file to see the list = P … or if you wanted to tweak things) and all you have to do to update your file list is to go on record again the next time you use ACDSee and press Ctrl + G (the shortcut key ") to generate a new list with all new filenames and data … * POOF! * A list day. There is a slight disadvantage … The program is quite old (about 6 years) and I do not know if current versions still have this ability. I'll Now it will run on Windows XP Home Edition, but I do not know if it will work on any recent versions of Windows. You could check test the software free here: http://www.acdsee.com/ I have not checked the test program, because 1) I like the old version I have (I use it for) and 2) I had too many things on my computer to add another program. You may be able to get their hands on a copy Free Same (old) ACDSee 32, I have file sharing through another view. I have not decided to allow a contact e-mail via Yahoo Answers for the moment I do not give my e-mail. If the new trial version of ACDSee for 9 does not have the list "Generate" function and you can not get a copy of ACDSee 32 (or find a different program) after a month or so … leave a note for me on this question using the "Add Review "option" and (if your comfortable with it) put your email down. I'll dig the disc has the program on it and see if I can make a working copy which will extract a WinRAR file, then email it to you.
